I made something for Fuuka-chan...

I finished knitting that SD dress that I had been working on for about two weeks last night. It's made from one of Laura Gilkey's knitting patterns that looked really imtimidating a few months ago, but now I don't know why it did. ^^; It took a little over one hank of Araucania Nature Wool in Emerald(that's what I'm told the color is called--it wasn't marked on the package!) Here's Fuuka, our first full-sized SD, wearing the dress. She's also wearing a Volks volume waffle wig in Ash Brown, and 20mm Antique Rose glass eyes in Green Apple.

I know I can't afford expensive clothes, but they're all good kids and understand. ^^ Besides, I just read Momo by Michael Ende so it would be embarrassing to spoil them so much, and they'd grow up unhappy and resentful. ::laughs::

Both the doll and the dress are GORGEOUS. I love the hair and the eyes. And mind you, I don't usually like these dolls. Great job!!

Those green eyes were really hard to find. In typical "me" fashion, I panicked and wound up with two pairs in the end. ^^;;;

I do think that dress looks good on her--makes the two weeks I spent knitting it worth it. ^^;;; I'm sure most people knit faster than me, but I'd love to see how they manage it. Then again, I'm the kind of person who would make a mistake and wind up unravelling the whole thing, rather than letting it stay because it would just drive me nuts.

The dress goes perfectly with her eyes and hair. :) And, hey, there's nothing wrong with wanting to do things well. If it takes you longer, then so be it. At least you'll know it's made well, as opposed to rushed through.
