It's so cold out...28 degrees and this room is so drafty...0_0
I finally picked up the crochet set that Mom bought for us and toiled over it for hours, trying to figure out what the hell I was supposed to be doing. I'm really quite retarded when it comes to learning things for the first time... Anyway, things started to pick up once I realized that I was actually supposed to be moving the crochet hook, and I crocheted a lovely string. *_*
I'm not gonna give up...
I found some sponge sandpaper when we were out at A.C. Moore yesterday--I decided to sand Saffron's seams after all. It's going to be a valuable thing to learn. Fuuka has some pretty bad seams but I don't feel like dealing with it right now. Eventually, when I restring Miyako, I'd like to sand her as well.
Mom seems overly enthusiastic about me and Lauren learning how to crochet. Maybe she really wants afghans?

Date: 2002-12-02 07:14 pm (UTC)My mother says I'm definitely not giving any crocheted stuff away. ^^; I think it's because back before she got married, she gave my paternal grandmother an afghan she had worked months on and my grandmother gave it to her dog. Tore the thing to shreds. Seeing how much work I put into a couple of practice rows, I can see how she's still traumatized.
