Fuuka's new sweater.

Here's Fuuka's red mohair blend sweater, made from Helene's cardigan pattern. I finally finished it. Kind of. You see, she has to wear it as a sweater and not a cardigan until I get me some buttons. ^^;;;; Can you believe that all the buttons I have are too big?

I still love Fuuka as much as when we first got her. I wonder if that's strange? She's a standard new Rio, but she just seems so special to me...^__^ I look at the rarer, more "special" SDs, and then I look at her, and I don't feel jealous or inadequate at all.

Too bad her hands got cut off in that picture...^^;;;;;

I wish I could knit/crochet.

I think part if it is those of us who were interested in SD for a while before getting one. We had to think hard about whether and which one to get. I notice the people jumping in and buying them right away all seem to 'dispose' of their's rather quickly. :(

It certainly did take a long time for us to be able to get Fuuka. So long that we actually had Old Rio on order, and then Volks discontinued her! I could never part with any of my SDs, but Fuuka in particular has a special place in my heart.

Knitting doesn't take that long to get into--I've only been knitting for a few months, so don't be discouraged if you ever want to give it a try. ^^ I'm not too great at it, but I managed to make some doll clothes. ^^ That sweater took me a very long time to make, though! I wonder if people normally knit as slow as I do. ^^;;;

Ooooh, I love the texture of the mohair blend yarn! Beautiful! And the red colour looks great with Fuuka's brown hair and red eyes :-)

I agree with you about learning to knit, I too have been teaching myself over the past couple of months and have really picked up on it quickly. I'm finishing off my third MSD sweater already (Laura's "side to side" pattern). I've got to try some of the mohair yarn next though!

I think she's lovely!! as to her being "not rare" , my Nana, Alita, may still be my favorite doll. ^_^
