I wonder if I'm getting ahead of myself...most of these are diploid crosses but I feel like if I attempt to cross my tets I'm going to wind up with a lot of potential fug...lots of ruffled edges and weird colors and things that could go wrong...I guess I should just be brave, huh?

In general, I understand a lot of tetraploid crosses are infertile, but viable ones often revert back to diploid combinations doing the work (with maybe some spare bits gumming up the works). Sometimes they double up like corn or wheat does, and that tends to thicken everything.

I've definitely noticed a lack of fertility in the tetraploids...I think I got like 3 viable seeds from all the crosses I tried. Daring Deception does seem like the exception but I'm only interested in passing on the eye pattern and edging and not the color, as it's not really that attractive. I think I do have some of its babies with Cedar Waxwing planted around somewhere, but I won't remember where until they bloom, LOL! They actually took six months to germinate, and I was convinced they were duds!

I hope at least one of them will be rose pink like Cedar Waxwing. I think the world has seen way too many beige tetraploids with purple eyes...
