I've been distracted from stuff I really ought to be doing because I want to play with the toys I got (for myself) for Christmas. ^^;;; I've been working on a scarf made out of Manos del Uruguay yarn in Cirrus and Rose(just the trim). I'm about 40 inches into the 48 inch scarf. Here's a picture of my work-in-progress:

This dye lot of Cirrus is pretty solid, not stripey like a lot of the semi-solids. I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or not--even though I really like the semi-solid effect, the color is solid to the point that I don't have to worry about color pooling, so I don't have to alternate two balls of yarn every two rows. ^^;

I also got 1 ball of Rowan Calmer in Refresh, and 1 ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Meadow. I am definitely knitting from my stash this year. I'll feel much better about myself if I do.

I've also been playing Kowloon Youma Gakuenki: recharge to the point that it's been invading my dreams(well, more or less). I actually like it much more than Persona 3.

So far, I managed to get all the people I can on my Buddy List. I made a big mistake, though, trying out the Akira Ishida-voiced rock-obsessed pervert character Kurozuka in the middle of a tough battle in the same section of the ruins that you have to fight Rika. He has this skill called "Nazo no Ishi" that the in-game tutorial was being really vague about--they just said that something not-so-good might happen--and when I tried it in battle, my main character dropped to 100 HP! Kurozuka is really disturbing. I wonder if my main character almost died right there because Kurozuka appears to get aroused by rocks. On the official home page, they call him a sickly-looking pretty boy, but he looked to me like the kind of character I'd like to punch in the face(long, wavy brown hair with bangs and glasses?!) Luckily(or not so luckily) he's completely a gag character. All he talks about are rocks, he throws a rock at you to get your attention, and if you pick it up, he asks you if you like rocks, and if you say you do, he asks you, "If you have a really rough-looking rock, don't you want to lick it?" I said I did, and then he became my stalker. He thinks the rocks talk to him. If you bring him into a dungeon, he asks the enemies if they like rocks, occasionally says things like "Leave me here! I can't leave the rocks alone!" or "No! I can't fight with a rock!" or "Do you want to use a rock?". And "Nazo no Ishi" is really scary. You just hear his voice saying, "Oh, it's so rough!(or smooth, depending on the rock, I guess)" and he sounds...self-involved. And then all your HP fly out.

I know Japanese fangirls love Minakami(the lavender incense-smoking slacker "buddy" character) but I would like to slap him. I find his voice very irritating. Maybe because he has the same seiyuu as Sven from Tales of Legendia, and his voice was definitely not a babbling brook. I kicked him out of my party as soon as I could, because all he does is smoke! I replaced him with Toride(who would be the world's wankiest angst-ridden character if he weren't 188 cm tall and didn't have arms that are too long for his body) I was afraid he wouldn't join me, but he is very desperate for affection, I guess. If you bring him into a dungeon with you, he keeps saying this homo-riffic stuff, but at least he's sweet and I'd rather have him clinging to me than gratifying himself with rocks like Kurozuka. ^^;;;
