What have I been up to?
Sep. 6th, 2005 10:09 pmNothing much. Well, actually, I've been knitting and crocheting like crazy, to the point where I got a weird eyelid twitch and had to lay off. It's all better now, though. I also finally finished the 6 doll heads I was rerooting on commission, and I'm gonna have to do some more soon, but it's better to have work than to...not have work. Though I have a tendency to overwork myself in situations like this. Lauren's always like, "Take a day off!" and I'm like "Ehhh..." and I wind up taking two hours off. I just can't deal with myself if I'm not doing something productive.
I put Tales of Symphonia down for a few weeks(because of all the other stuff I had to do) and I'm finally picking it up again. I'm still not crazy about it but it's not a bad play...well...as far as the gameplay goes, I've been getting really frustrated with the sloppy enemy targetting--I'm used to Star Ocean 3 where you can literally run circles around the enemies, so I'm not too happy about this three line battle system where you have to constantly fight with the controls to target some enemy that's in the middle of casting a spell that could waste your entire party, and you have to shuffle through all the surrounding enemies just to hit the spell caster, and you usually don't make it in time. I wonder if I should switch the controls to manual instead of semi-auto...I used semi-auto in Star Ocean 3, but the battlefield in that game was actually 3D, not fake 3D where you're forced to run in a line. Kind of reminds me of my old days playing Psychic Force 2012.
Another reason why I find it hard to make time for TOS is the fact that I can't stand any of the characters, and the script is really hokey. Well...I'll be fair. I tolerate Genius. But I can't stand anybody else.
Maybe it'll get better...I mean, I've played way worse. But practically every scene makes me cringe.
