I played Soul Hackers for something like three hours yesterday. Still haven't cleared Amami Monolith. It's not that it's one of those excruciating Deva Yuga-like places that makes you want to bury the game in the backyard--it's just big. I know it's the second-to-last dungeon in the game and it makes me feel sad. I guess there's always the extra dungeon...

Speaking of extra dungeons, I know somebody said the only difference between the Saturn and Playstation versions of Soul Hackers was that whole P-Mecchie(sp?) virtual pet thing you do with your (nonexistent) Pocket Station, but it's not true. There are actually quite a few differences between the Saturn and Playstation versions. I would say they're about as different as Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne and Nocturne Maniacs. There are actually quite a few extra story scenes in the PSX version of Soul Hackers, in addition to the whole "new ending" thing that you can get on the second playthrough. There's also an extra dungeon, you can view all the main story scenes you've already watched in "digest mode", some of the bosses use different attacks, etc., etc. Of course, I'm sure the Saturn version was less grainy. =_= But I haven't really had any problems with the loading times.

I bet Japanese Saturn fans were peeved about the PSX version of Soul Hackers...but I somehow doubt it went down like those jokers on GameFaqs getting "revenge" for the fact that their precious Tales of Symphonia was ported over to the Playstation 2.
