Polareis as a Rugosa may be subject to burning if the foliage gets hit with cold water on a hot day. I heard from one of the rosarians that they don't like getting their foliage hosed down. This struck me as odd for something that's supposed to be hardy for seaside locations, but possibly the difference is that hot day/cold water thing.
