I noticed that my two Old Garden Roses(James Mason and Crested Moss) were the first to drop their leaves. The thing that I found curious was that Simon Estes, of my Buck Roses, continued to grow well after a hard freeze! Since I wasn't sure if we had a hard freeze or not(no electricity and all), all I could do was pile mulch around the base of the roses, and put up the collars after Thanksgiving... It's their first year in the ground, so I winter-protected everything, even James Mason, which is supposed to be cold-hardy to Zone 3. ^^;;; I hope they make it!
As far as floribundas go, Moondance is supposed to be pretty cold-hardy, but this year it got a major thrip infestation. I think it produced one nice flower all year. Good thing we don't get chili thrips around here...
