Moving right along.

I finished with Chapter 16 and handed it over to Lauren to review. I hope she goes easy on me. ^^;;;; But if I deserve it, I deserve it, and if I don't, I don't.

I also joined the legions of SHEEP when I got my first Monster High doll in the mail. Uh...Mattel had Dead Tired Ghoulia on sale...? I like the fact that the Dead Tired series doesn't have the heavy makeup that most of the Monster High dolls have. I'm a bit disturbed that she came with a bucket of brains as a snack, though! Those better be simulated brains, Ghoulia! I love how they make a big deal about how Draculaura is a vegan and would never suck anybody's blood, but Ghoulia eats brains!

Uh...I haven't actually deboxed her yet...hopefully there's a better explanation to this.

I might actually break down and play Ao no Kiseki now. I hit a wall in the PC Engine version of Ys III You know there's a problem with the gameplay when a boss keeps sending you flying across the screen, and you can't even tell HOW. The way the enemy sprites animate in that game is laughable. The music is pretty rockin', though.

I was charmed by Dead Tired Ghoulia (her original bio indicates that her favorite food is junkfood, so I'm choosing to believe that her Dead Tired snack is just in the SHAPE of brains... the zombie equivalent of animal crackers or Pepperidge Farm Goldfish) until I realized that her "polkadots" were actually blood-splatters. For some reason, that was just too... visceral for me.

The Dead Tired series is probably my favorite series for the same reason you mentioned... the make-up is lighter, so the girls all look fresh-faced and more innocent. It's a pity that Clawdeen only comes with the bunkbed playset, since she's probably my favorite version of Clawdeen so far.

I managed to find a Dead Tired Draculaura online for cheap. I hope she arrives intact! Her pigtails are goofy, but I like her face paint. I'd make her dress up as Bjork if I could. ^^

I'm pretending I didn't see the pattern on Ghoulia's pajamas. Her artwork makes her look so demure...

Lauren was also interested in the Dead Tired Clawdeen, but was faced with similar problems about not wanting her bed. She already had to get Lagoona's rehydration tank, and has no idea what to do with it.

At least Lagoona's tank doubles as a nightlight/lamp, though! It has a practical use (kind of), whereas Clawdeen's bunkbed... less so. :( IIRC, the other beds they've released have a double function (Draculaura's coffin = jewelry case, Frankie's slab = mirror) so maybe Clawdeen's bunkbed has a gimmick I don't know about.

I really need to debox my Dead Tired Draculaura. I got her as soon as she came out, and she's been stuck in her box ever since. Now that I have the goofy Journalism Class outfit for her, I really ought to get her out of her box!

Having seen her in person, I think that the "School's Out" aka "Second Debut" Clawdeen with the purple tunic and leggings is very pretty. I have my eye on the Dead Tired version too, but really, what to do about that bed?

I couldn't say no to the Dead Tired Lagoona, because Lagoona always looks kind of samey, and I liked the blue lips on that version. I'm not sure if I want the Hydration Tank as part of my home decor, though...the doll is awfully cute.

I have finally seen two dolls on sale today. I went into a store-cafe to have breakfast, and they weren't there. As I came out I noticed there were two dolls where there were none before: they dosify them! They were Spektra and Abbie, I think.

The complements of those dolls are just... no words.

Abbey is reeeeaally hard to find in stores here. I finally managed to locate one online for under retail price today, but there was only one of her, apparently... As rare as she is, I'm not going to pay more than $20 for her! Luckily, I managed to get her for a bit less than that.

Spectra is uncommon, but I don't think she's very popular. I'd like to see her in person before I make any decisions about her...she looks kind of scary to me. At least Ghoulia has the glasses to distract from the major cheekbones.
